Jane Russell, an American actress, singer and model, had a net worth in excess of $40 million when she died on February 28th 2011. Jane Russell is known for her status as a famous sex icon in the movie industry. Her move from the Midwest to California for the chance to play her first movie role in "The Outlaw" in 1943. She was the oldest and the only daughter of five kids to Geraldine Russell and Roy William Russell. There were four brothers in her family: Thomas, Wallace, Jamie and Kenneth. Her father was a U.S. Army first lieutenant, and her mother was an actress in a touring troupe. Jane began piano lessons from a young age because of her mother. Jane later became interested in drama and enrolled in Van Nuys High School's stage production team. Following the death of her father in her mid-forties Jane decided to pursue a career as a professional designer. But she ended up working as a receptionist. Jane then got into modeling and studied drama and acting with Max Reinhardt's Theatrical Workshop at the urging of her mother.
